this week has been pretty mundane.. tuesday was a holiday.. but there is nothing to do here... so.. we ended up spending around 4 hours in a pancake place... i had both my breakfast and lunch there... fortunately, we made a last minute decision to play tennis which turned out to be quite a good one. i played again yesterday.. and also soccer in the rain, drenching my climacools... i hope i dont get sick... not sure whether i should buy a tennis racket, cause i will probably being playing quite often... and i dont want to have to keep borrowing one all the time... i just dont see it as being worth my money though. dinner after soccer wasnt too bad either. the waitress forgot about our order and gave it to us 45 mins late.. but she compensated for it by giving us a free round of drinks... my test went pretty well, in case i havent mentioned it... keep running into someone i dont wanna run into... 3 times this week... thats a record... had first aid course this weekend, from 9-5 on both days... ended up scolding the instructor today cause i felt he was being biased against my group of friends... i really need to start studying because i have a test in 2 weeks and an exam in 4... aaaaaaaa... the inertia is just really high... i'd rather just watch really really mind numbingly bad tv than study sometimes.... and some of the stuff we learn can be extremely uninteresting... anyway... to make me feel better, i went out and got mission impossible 3 tics for wednesday.. which is the sneak preview... excited... this is like the highlight of my month or sth... hahahaha. i dunno what im gonna have for dinner.. but at my current energy level and willingness to intentionally do anything physically demanding, i think i can safely bet that its gonna be italian.. and arrive on a motorbike... anyway.. i just got home and am in bad need of a warm shower... which i will not get since the water heater was made a hundred years ago... i will just have to settle for lukewarm.. cya!

In the intermediate hours between waking up and doing something useful, I decided to create this blog. Soon everyone will be heading their separate ways and doing very different things. Hopefully this blog will help to bridge the distances between the paths of life each of us chooses to take. -Luke

The month today
I am one month into my job yet I don't feel that my life has really changed much, perhaps except for having to deal with back to back relatively early nights(1am) and abnormally earlier mornings at 745am(I'm used to waking up just before noon). Not that I had a far fetched expectation of an emotional reward a month ago, but other than the joy of receiving my paycheck, this job has not added any significant value to my life thus far. Indeed, there is also something unusually wrong when every week seems to be like the other. Sometimes, I feel that I should take active steps to enchance and vary the following week or forseeable future by drawing up plans with out of this world activities that I must follow. On other occasions, I'm rather content with this standstill and can't be bothered to do anything, which of course eventually leaves me irritated because I hate looking back to only discover weeks devoid of meaning and direction to have conveniently whiled away like that. Somehow, I prefer living a life which strays from fact as reality is sometimes boring, and veer towards fiction(not necessarily fairy tale like) where most people, bar myself, are convinced can only remain as a product of ones fertile imagination. I believe that I'm not the only one faced with this problem as everyone would surely get fed up with remaining at their current state, in every and any aspect of their lives, one day. Fortunately, I am able to keep myself entertained in many ways; for example doing inane stuff at work such as modifying another colleagues resume or reference letter just for fun. The best part of it all is that I somehow always mysteriously manage to laugh at jokes I make to myself. Hmmmmmmm it's funny huh?
Let me give you an example:
Original Ref Letter: Dinna has proven herself to show high intellectual ability through the way she dealt with her assigned tasks.
My Remix: Dinna has proven herself to show high intellectual ability, probably at a level between a rat and chimp(it's not bad considering they're the genetically closest species to the human), through the way she dealt with her assigned tasks by pushing the buck.
I died laughing uncontrollably.
For the record, Dinna was one helluva cockup staff who got sacked for doing everything wrong and I hadda clear up her mess. The only thing she did right, if this even qualifies, was leaving her reference letter behind for me to make a bigger mockery of! Haha

Triple flavoured ice cream
I havent blogged for some time, but that is because nothing significant was happening. Now significant things have happened, and hence I have decided to blog it down.
Firstly, I got through my interview at NTU and got the electrical and electronics engineering course that I wanted. I went for the interview some time ago because I was told that there was alot of demand for the course and hence there were limited spaces left. Therefore, I am really thankful that I have managed to get it in the end.
Secondly, I got the job at IKEA. It is not the CEO job that you guys might have thought, especially since I am actually blogging about it. I am going to be a cashier there. Thing is, I was told my chances are slim because I can only work for another 2 months during the interview, but fortunately I managed to get it in the end. It would have been better, though, if i had got a CEO job for a part time basis, but unfortunately I barely missed out on that.
Lastly, and perhaps the least significant one for some, or the most significant for others, I got this hot pakistani girls number. I should be going out with her soon, but because of her job and my commitments that cannot happen as soon as I would like it to. I actually knew about this girl 3 years back from some mutual friends gathering, but since she was not pretty or hot at that time in my opinion, I did not get to know the girl that well before. Do not get me wrong, I am not being shallow. I was still very good friends with her, but we eventually lost contact because the conversations dried up. Now, since her evolution, I will think of more things to talk about.
Nevertheless, this is only the beginning of the rabbit hole which alice( and some say the goat) went through, and I do not know where these 3 events will eventually lead me. For now though, I am not the least bothered. I am just going to savour the moment and enjoy my triple flavoured ice cream.

The Return
Just got back to melbourne today. The trip back to singapore was really awesome. Had food from newton twice. Had so much prata. Had banana leaf twice. yummy... Most importantly though, i got to see the people who matter to me, including all the writers of this blog. Other than justin who is in china... The chocolate fondue was unbelievable... hahaha... Anyway... Now im back to a primary diet of sandwiches. Got an exam tomorrow. Im so so tired. Didnt really get much sleep on the plane. Probably around 4 hours. Just caught another hour before dinner. Dinner by the way.. consists of leftovers from lunch. Fortunately, when i returned, my place was not in a state of complete disarray and i managed to clean up in about an hour. My optus sim card stopped working suddenly and i had to deal with incompetent personnel for about 45 mins before getting a new sim card with the same number. Should be having a pretty busy week ahead. hopefully i manage to find a cool apartment to move into. Anyway... It was a really fun week... but im sure its not gonna be able to measure up to my return for the world cup. I will see you guys again in 7 weeks... cya!

This week(for the sake of filling up this space)
Unlike a regular week, this one began with myself being largely energy sapped affter obtaining 4 hours of sleep on Sunday night, or technically the wee hours of Monday morn. Worse still, despite surviving on wahtever little energy remained, I continued to punish myself with an average of 3.5hours of shuteye each day for the 4 working days, while oblivious to every eventuality. Consequently, and in a nutshell, this workweek had been a living hell of alternating spurts of hardcore work and inadvertent sleep from 8-5. Wah basket man if only i hadda vitality pill to dispel my weariness.
Fortunately, Luke's return on Wed night served as a momentary respite from the draining days of late. It was indeed a breath of fresh air to welcome my good friend back home and especially the car ride where 6 of us were nicely compacted at the back! On the very same night, we had dinner at the basement of his house, which I thought resembled a grotto, that lay before the rectangular swimming pool. I also likened the pool to a jewel with shimmering iridescent qualities embedded in a casket of greenery. The night was pretty boisterous, yet its lustre was dulled by the discovery that another common person we know, had told innumerable lies to esteem himself above his peers and the Indian community alike.
On the following day, I, with the company of Elvin, Melia, Luke andhis family again dined, this time at a Thai restaurant in the Amara Hotel. I was particularly fascinated by the array of condiments served, each with its unique enhancing flavours. In my opinion, the crab dish was the icing on the cake, amidst the other delectable evergreen dishes such as pandan wrapped chicken and beef in a green curry bath. This day swiftly concluded with 2 episodes of 'Prison Break' and a long slumber.
I had mainly spent this Saturday sleeping, not to gratify my slothfulness or lethargy, but instead to catch up on lost sleep from the week. After watching Chelsea pull off yet another easy victory at Bolton, Luke El and I headed for Crazy Elephant where we were entertained by the band which played Blues. Anyway, I must end this very abruptly because I can't go on no more. When I am tired, I am as humourless and dry as this entry. Lagi Terok. I will describe the Crazy Elephant experience another time. Goodnight. Oh to Justin and Malik, you both really should've been around.

Feel like a Hangover
Ok dudes..it's been so long since i made an entry.. so here's one.. despite me having so much time..i still couldn't muster the will-power to sit down and type it..
Everyday has been a living hell.. not because it's burning in my house.. it's the feeling of unemployment that burns.. and it's burns of 1st degree too. My brother..oldest one has stopped working for a couple of months and i've ORD-ed for some time already. It's been escalatingly hard to find a decent admin post so i've opened more options with being a waiter. With no cash flow in the house, life's been quite horrendous cus my parents have been grumpy and i have a freakin driving test/ lessons to pay for. Oldest brother seems to piss me off lots and lots too. He just plays games 24-7.. and doesn't lend a hand in the housework..he's juz damn useless in the house..
I've been just at home..not slacking.. weird..i've been just playing lots of classical music..seemed to have lost quite some touch.. but i'm getting better at flowery scales..and embellishments.. have been thinking alot about cards and finding some answers to some thoughts..meaning i've been playing with my cards quite alot.. i've come up with some new ideas..and i really need to practice them and audience test too.. not to mention keeping up with my flourishes.. so..guess...it's juz magic and music i'm working on..
i've also been reading lotsa econs.. the demand and supply theories and ceteris paribus..haha... all the opportunity cost and all la..kenneth will get bored...hahaha...
i got to know a freaking cool stage magician ...singaporean..by the name of KiKi Tay...he's a friend of my team mate...Huron.. and also i've met a Swedish Magician who has won lotsa awards.. he dropped by Singapore and Huron hosted him...a session was arranged with him so dat he could show some ideas to us and we could exchange pointers.. he comes up with ideas damn quickly and can even present it at such professionalism and such a smoth pace...really amazing shit he displayed...and he truly inspired me with some of his logics...anyways..i had a part in taking him around to eat and all..
even though i am broke...i guess i exhausted all my little savings i had..
so dat concludes my time spent this week..
i'm less depressed now i guess...cus Huron and some other magicians kind of cheered me up..
i was sick on sunday...and cudn't join kenny and malik...for dota
everyday i pray ...wud be a better day i guess..

The Internet
I havent been able to make any entries lately cause i have been running out of internet.. at least from this month onwards, i am able to increase my internet capacity to 10gb from the paltry 3gb monthly which i was using previously. which was the maximum at the time btw. anyway... med has been getting much more interesting lately... saw a cadaver today... a few actually. and found out that solar plexus isnt just a nifty name for a taekwondo punch, but refers to a bunch of nerves behind the stomach... on other issues... i missed my scheduled interview with one of my tutors... cause he emailed me instead of calling to make the appointment.. moronic.. who emails appointment times.... and interestingly... my kitchen sink can produce water hot enough to scald while that of my shower is not enough to make an eskimo feel warm... im meeting kentaro for dinner tomorrow... he was sup to cook... but is feeling too lazy.. so we are going out instead... nick is sup to come along... im not sure if he is though... cause the bastard refuses to answer his phone... seems to be a bit preoccupied.. i hope he reads this.... I REALLY REALLY need to get a radio... i still have not found the time or energy.. mainly energy... to go out and buy one... and a new pillow too.. oh... i almost forgot.. i was damn irritated a few days ago... i had to reformat my com cause some pirated software screwed it up... my com restarted halfway through the installation and when windows was loaded again, it started detecting bogus hardware like PnP bios extension.. wtf... i didnt even know there were pnp bios extensions... not doing much studying nowadays... been trying to enjoy myself a bit more.. which entails watching more oc, scrubs, smallville and prison break... got my new phone... love it... its a motorola v3x for those of u who still dont know... the only thing is that i keep screwing up smses... cause the smsing system is quite diff frm nokia... other than that.. its perfect... im in love in australia... finally.. if only i had gotten it on valentines day... HAHAHA... kk ppl... gtg now.. cya!

Work work work.. like a Peon
Within the first hour of my first day at my job, I was inundated with a deluge of instructions and work which essentially consisted clockwork accounting. The work was as mundane and meaningless as screwing caps on toothpaste tubes for a living. Even though the process was simpl, it demanded a sustained high-level of concentration and spared no room for the slightest of errors. This made me resort to cheating by exploiting some mathematics in which I calculated the results and then tailored my findings(which I never found haha) to them a la solving a 'Trigonometry Proving Question' by working backwards in simplifying and later loosely linking your findings to the otherside of the equation. Yahoo! My boss, who is King's College London 1st Class grad, incredulously bought my bullshit! Okay, I shan't push my luck any further. In spite of being charged with 3 hours of sleep, I combatted the lasting drowsiness as well as my high inertia of slothfulness cultured over a lifetime manageably(there's no such word btw). Well, at least the generally pleasant working environment(generously helpful colleagues) tied in with a handsome paycheck and many a view of the ubiquitous sashaying stewardess trainees(poultry) constitute the upside ,which I feel just fairly outweighs my toil.
